About Connecticut College
Connecticut College, founded in 1911 in New London, Connecticut, is an idyllic New England liberal arts college. There is plenty of air-conditioned classroom space of all sizes, a beautiful concert hall, and a supportive campus environment. The student center has a convenience store, snack bar, pub, post office, and internet access. The scenic campus is situated within a 750-acre arboretum with dramatic views of Long Island Sound, downtown New London, and the Thames River. The College is just minutes away from beaches, nature preserves, Mystic Seaport, major concert venues, coffeehouses, and bookstores. Providence, Hartford, and New Haven can be reached in less than an hour; New York and Boston are approximately two hours away by car. Travel
Connecticut College is less than 60 miles southwest of Providence, RI, just off of I-95 in southeastern Connecticut. It is 113 miles from Boston, and 130 miles from New York City. Amtrak trains (800-USA-RAIL, www.amtrak.com) go to downtown New London. The station is two miles from campus. Greyhound Bus (800-231-2222, www.greyhound.com) goes to the same station. The closest airport is in Providence, RI (PVD), but a number of other airports serve the region.

To reserve a seat on the van from TF Green Airport in Providence to Connecticut College, please call Airport Taxi and Limousine Service at 401-737-2868 between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Eastern time. At the prompt select 2 and talk to Diane. You must reserve ahead! The charge is $30 payable on the vehicle by cash or credit card. Space is limited, so plan ahead!

Public Transportation from Providence to New London, CT From the Providence airport, you can take the shuttle to the Amtrak station. The shuttle leaves every hour, on the hour, the ride takes 35 minutes, and it costs $9. The train runs about every 2 hours from 7:20 AM to 10:25 PM. The first and last trains cost $16, but generally the fare is $26, if travelling on Sunday. Saturday fares are generally $16. See www.amtrak.com for schedule and fare specifics. There is a taxi stand at the New London train station, and the taxi ride to the College costs about $7. This is the economical alternative to taking a taxi from Providence on your own.
