Room & Board

Housing will be available in dorms at Connecticut College. All dorms are conveniently located close to the student center and dining hall. Rooms are single-occupancy by default, though a few double- and triple-occupancy rooms are available upon request.
Our Standard rooms are located in the newer, air-conditioned dorms. Linens are provided, but keep in mind it is a college, not a hotel. Most rooms are clustered in groups of 4-5 that share a common bath (single-sex).
Our Budget rooms are located in the older, non-airconditioned dorm. Linens are not provided, and you would need to bring a pillow as well. Rooms are on longer hallways, with hall-shared bathrooms.
We will offer an optional meal plan, which includes all-you-can-eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at the college cafeteria. The cafeteria has several stations offering a wide variety of food, including plenty of choice for vegetarians, vegans, and those with other dietary needs. Individual meal tickets will be available for purchase if you anticipate not needing the whole meal plan.
Other food options on campus include the snack bar and convenience store. The snack bar in the student center is open for breakfast and lunch, Monday through Friday, and offers quick food such as grab-and-go sandwiches and wraps, pizza, cereal, fruit, energy bars, and coffee. The convenience store offers basic groceries and personal supplies, but very limited hours. Off-campus, there are shops and restaurants in New London, but the college is isolated from the town by a highway interchange, so walking or biking there is unsafe. It is a short taxi ride (less than $10).

Rates (per person, per week):
Standard room - $323/week
Budget room - $160/week
Commuter fee - $60/week
Meal plan - $175/week (lower than last year!)
Meal Tickets - $5.25/breakfast, $8.50/lunch, $13.00/dinner

If you will be arriving early, staying late, or having a guest, please inquire about transient housing.

Transient Housing Rates:
Standard room - $55/night
Budget room - $35/night
Meal Tickets - $5.25/breakfast, $8.50/lunch, $13.00/dinner

If college dorms are not for you, there are a number of bed and breakfasts and hotels in New London and the surrounding area.

One to check out is the Springhill Suites by Marriott, which some of our students have stayed at with positive reviews and is very close to Connecticut College. You will need to provide for your own transportation to and from Connecticut College.

Other places to check:
The City of New London
The Eastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce
The New London Main Street Association
