Heather Miller Lardin performs frequently on double bass, violone, and viola da gamba with period instrument ensembles throughout the Northeast, including the Handel & Haydn Society, Tempesta di Mare, and Brandywine Baroque.  From 2006-2013 she served as Artistic Director for the Ithaca-based period instrument ensemble NYS Baroque.  As a modern double bassist, she was a member of the Virginia Symphony from 1996 to 2002.


Ms. Lardin is a Lecturer in double bass at Cornell University; has served on the viol faculty of the Amherst Early Music Festival; and has taught music history at Cornell University and the Eastman School of Music. She received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Performance Practice from Cornell and is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music.
