Oliver Camacho

Oliver Camacho Tenor Oliver Camacho has been praised as “superbly stylish” by the Chicago Tribune, and “emotionally generous” by the Chicago Sun-Times. He is a co-director of Liederstube, an oasis for art song in Chicago’s Fine Arts Building founded by pianist and author Dr. Eugenia Cheng with whom he regularly collaborates. Oliver has been a soloist with the Newberry Consort, Bella Voce, Chicago Choral Artists, Bach Cantata Vespers, the Chicago Bach Ensemble, Vox 3 Collective, and Distant Worlds Philharmonic Orchestra. Oliver is a producer and host of Opera Box Score radio and podcast, is an announcer on Classical WFMT, and is the editor of the Vocal Arts Chicago blog.

Oliver has been a part of Amherst's Baroque Opera Project since 2004, assisting Drew Minter and Jennifer Griesbach in nine productions. He has shared his passion for historically informed performance as a stage director for the New York Opera Society, VOX 3 Collective, and the Opera Company.
