Music from Escorial MS V.III.24 (ca. 1430-1445) - Early Notation with Annette Bauer
This early-fifteenth century source commissioned by the Duke of Burgundy, Philip the Good (1396-1467, reigned from 1419 to his death) features predominantly French secular repertoire of the first few decades of the fifteenth century. Striking is the use of black mensural notation with red color on a red staff system.
